Announcement of Culinary Art (Cooking Skill) Training

HHashoo Foundation with the support of UNHCR is organising a 06 months training course as part of the Afghan skill development program. The training would be a certified diploma course recognised by a national testing body. It would take place at the Training Center of Hashoo Hunar; a specialised skills unit of Hashoo Foundation at Rawalpindi from July 2019.

The training is for a period of 6 months and will be completely residential. All training material and food will be provided by Hashoo Foundation. A minimal amount of stipends will be provided to cover personal cost. Minimum requirement for attendance would be 90%.

Applications are invited from across KP for 50 available seats. Selection would be strictly on set criteria and on basis of representation from across KP

Criteria and Application Process

Nationality and Bio-data

  • All interested trainees should be Afghans with valid PoR cards.
  • Age-limit is between 18 years to 36 years

Academic Qualifications

  • Minimum qualification is grade 10 for those who studied in Pakistan schools and grade
  • 12 years from Afghan schools or college.


  • Engaged in hospitality sector either self-employed or with food outlet. (at least one year experience required)
  • Females: On exceptional basis, Females who do not have an experience but are interested to start working in hospitality.

Required Documentations

  • Completion/Graduate certificate from School and College
  • Employed applicants, a letter from employer to attest the experience in hotels, restaurant, and guesthouse or wedding halls.
    • Recent 4 passport size pictures.
    • Two copies of valid POR card .
    • Two copies of educational document.

N.B. Major part of training will be residential. Trainees will be required to stay in arranged hostels.

DEADLINE for receiving all applications is 16 July 2019 – (4.45 PM) Female trainees are highly encouraged to apply.

All selected trainees will have to appear for an interview jointly carried out by Hashoo Foundation and UNHCR. Selected candidates would be required to sign a Consent Form to undertake and complete the training.

Candidates who are enrolled in other UNHCR/Hashoo trainings will not be shortlisted.
