Hashoo Foundation Organized Sports Day for FATA Youth

(August 25th, 2016) Hashoo Foundation organized sports day at Ayub Park Sports Complex, Rawalpindi. 150 FATA Youth were present at the occasion and among them 60 trainees participated in different games including cricket & tug of war. The event was chaired by Mr. Abdurrehman from Skill Development Unit – FATA Development Authority, Government of Pakistan.

Hazrat Bilal FATA DA trainee enjoyed kicking off the game by collecting the Man of the Series award; while Naeem ur Rehman earned the title “Man of the Match” and Azam Wazir with his captaincy and energetic team won this entire match and much thankful to HF for arranging this sports activity for them.

The sports gala was arranged by the Hospitality Management Team with an objective of grooming the FATA DA Youth. Foundation trained above 30,000 young boys and girls in various departments of hotel industry since inception and structured twelve training qualifications certified by City & Guilds UK, National Training Bureau (NTB) and Technical Educational & Vocational Training Authority (TEVTA), Punjab.

Commenting on the occasion, Mr. Khair Ul Bashar-Senior Project Officer FATA-DA, emphasized the importance of physical activity that plays a pivotal role in a healthy lifestyle. ”Hashoo Foundation has created an opportunity for the youth from FATA to create linkages with the youth in Punjab, this would not only lead to an exchange of cultures and information but also groom them and help shape up their behaviors”.

Mr. Fida Karim-Regional Program Manager Hashoo Foundation said, “The Foundation not only impart skills in youth but also organizes extra-curricular activities for better exposure. We have worked towards inculcating the concept of acceptance between diverse cultures and importance of physical fitness.

Mr. Abdurrehman- Monitoring & Evaluation Officer FATA DA said, “One of our main focus as a nation is to bring forward our youth and provide them with access to opportunities. We need to take concrete steps at the grassroots level towards this aim. He appreciated Hashoo Foundation’s commitment and believes that such initiatives will go a long way towards the fulfillment of our aim”.
