“Plan Bee” Small Enterprises for Rural Women


The project was funded by Pakistan and India Students Association in USA in 2013 and its objective was to enhance the income of the target families through honey bee farming in Gilgit and using the earned income for education, health care and food for the children.

After base line assessment and mobilization, in village Rundu of District Skardu, beneficiaries were selected. Training material was developed to train selected beneficiary, on completion of training, production kits were distributed and women business groups were formed. Technical assistance was provided and beneficiaries were monitored during production. Activities and production were evaluated and business groups were linked to lucrative markets.
